This Week in Anime
Blue Lock Season 2 is coming this October 2024. The hit anime featuring egotistical strikers will be returning and I am as excited as I was when it first released. Get ready to find out if Rin or Yoichi will make it to the national team.
Fairy Tail is coming back after airing about 15 years ago with a new anime. Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest will premiere in July of this year. It will follow Natsu and the guild as they take on the 100 years quest to seal the Five Dragon Gods.
Tougen Anki is getting an anime adaptation in 2025. The series follows Shiki Ichinose who discovers that he has the blood of an Oni. In order to find out his destiny, he enrolls in Rasetsu Academy to train. If you don’t want to wait, the trailer is out on YouTube.
Frieren is going on hiatus. I have nothing more to say except that I am crushed.
To Be Hero X, a follow up of To Be Hero, is being produced through a collaboration of Aniplex and bilibili. It will feature both 2D and 3D animation. The series itself follows heroes competing to be the top hero, Hero X. The trailer released and I highly encourage you to watch it as it looks very interesting.
Traveling
We are currently in New Orleans to celebrate the birthday of a close friend and to ensure this posts on time, we had to write it ahead of schedule. I have never been to New Orleans, but have heard that it is a fun and vibrant city. Located in Louisiana, it is one of the oldest cities in America founded in 1718. The city itself is world famous for it’s French Quarters, Jazz music, Cajun cuisine, and of course Mardi Gras.
What is Mardi Gras you might ask? I myself don’t know yet, but will find out when I get there.
This segues nicely into what I wanted to get to which is the beauty of travel. Of course, travel itself is fun but more importantly it broadens your horizons. Learning about how others live their lives, experiencing their cuisine and culture builds your ability to empathize with others. It also helps you reflect on your own life, I myself realize how lucky I am that I get to travel.
I want to encourage you all to travel as well, or at the very least use the power of the internet to learn about other cultures, people, music, etc. Watching anime itself is experiencing one aspect of the Japanese culture, but don’t just stop there. Watch a movie, discover a Japanese YouTube channel, read a book that has been translated from Japanese into your local language.
Ultimately, don’t stop learning or experiencing new things. You will discover a deeper appreciation for others and yourself.
If you want to experience a little bit of New Orleans, keep a look out for our IG stories.
